Addvance IT delivered their Kappture EPoS Hawking solution via twenty wrist-mounted mobile devices, taking cash only for the first phase of the pilot.
Kappture’s innovative stock module calculated the number of pints sold per handset, pulling data in real time, and notifying porters where beer kegs needed replacing – completely removing sales downtime and allowing for a fully dynamic operation.
The system reconciled stock-to-cash by recording the closing weight of kegs, along with wastage and sales, and provided accurate variance against theoretical and closing stock.
The second phase saw higher spec mobile devices introduced, utilising an integration via Payworks, and mobile contactless payment terminals provided by Barclaycard. This allowed the operations team to move entirely cashless - benefitting from reduced costs for cash counting, banking and removing the risk of cash discrepancies and shrinkage. Alex Lewis, General Manager of catering and hospitality at the Kia Oval, said “I was impressed by how well the system worked, allowing our hawking operation to be run from a central location. Our hawking manager could monitor sales, stock levels, and hawker performance from a command centre, controlling where stock was allocated across site and manage the team of porters effectively. This solution has given us confidence in being able to establish a lean operation in an area of the stadium we previously had to outsource to third parties.”
September saw the Go Live of Kappture at the University of Sunderland, which has over 20,000 students across 4 campuses. Working closely with the Elior mobilisation team, AIT installed 21 networked EPoS terminals including integrated contactless and Chip & PIN card terminals across 12 different sales areas including the impressively refurbished City Space, Hope Street Exchange, National Glass Centre and St Peters locations. The management team now have visibility across the whole contract with real time data clearly demonstrating the growing trend of cashless payments.
"We were really impressed with the Kappture EPoS solution during a successful 3 game pilot last season. After winning promotion to League 1...
we took the decision in June to install 37 new EPoS terminals and Kappture Stock this summer to be ready for the pre season friendly in August.
The whole project was completed ahead of schedule by the installation team and we now have EPoS throughout all our F&B areas including fixed
and mobile tablets. All the devices are connected via the LTFC network to the Internet to provide real time sales and stock data helping us
to improve customer service and match day performance.
Kappture also installed the new credit and debit card solutions working with Barclaycard for both the fixed EPoS and Mobile Tablet payments...
all of which are fully integrated with Kappture, so we are seeing an increasing trend of cashless payments at every home game."
Cris Silva (General Catering Manager)
It has been a busy summer so far installing and supporting a large number of high profile events. The Kappture team has been involved with several different events across varied sectors during June and July, such as: Henley Royal Regatta, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Rolling Stones, Eminem and Paloma Faith concerts as well as many other sporting related events.
Early May awarded Kappture with another prestigious site known for both its horse and motorsport racing. Goodwood is a greenfield site with events that spread across many acres of land along with multiple challenges to overcome – the sort of challenges that Kappture really likes to embrace. Given a short lead-time, Addvance IT stepped up to the plate to deliver a total of 135 Kappture ready terminals with integrated EFT, half of which were to be in place ready for the first race day. Further to the delivery and install of the system, AIT are providing onsite event support for the large events, in particular Goodwood’s infamous Festival of Speed and Qatar Festival. Following the successful installation by Kappture’s crack mobilisation team, Di Hudson, Head of IT for Goodwood Estates, commented: “…what [AIT] deployed, in the very short time given to [them], was incredibly good – we had no major problems which, given it was the first race day and the first use of [their] system, was excellent.” We look forward to a long and productive relationship with Goodwood, and their catering provider Compass Group, over the next few years and are already looking ahead towards the next event.
The installation by Kappture, who are Derby-based, will enable the Club to significantly improve the payment service for Members, supporters and for all visitors to the ground. Tim Baker, Finance Manager responsible for business support services at Derbyshire, said: “We’re pleased to have selected Kappture to install our EPoS system. “The system provides the Club with intelligent sales and stock management solutions and will enhance the service we can provide to all visitors at the 3aaa County Ground. “We look forward to working with the Kappture team and we plan to have the new EPoS system in place later this summer ahead of the start of our Vitality Blast campaign and for our Little Mix concert on Thursday 19 July.” Neil Cox, Managing Director of Addvance IT, added: “We’re delighted to secure the contract at Derbyshire County Cricket Club following a competitive tender process. “We already supply major venues such as Lord’s, Twickenham and Croke Park, but with our roots firmly placed in Derby, being able to add our local team to an ever-growing list of stadia clients is very pleasing. “Derbyshire are an innovative Club who understand that the use of technology will help to grow their business and we look forward to assisting with this.”
AIT are pleased to announce they have been awarded the Hospitality IT service contract to supply Letheby & Christopher at this year’s Henley Royal Regatta. The event takes place from the 4th to 8th July 2018 and will include the supply of 49 networked EPoS terminals offering contactless EFT payments and real time analytics for the nine themed sales areas. Phil Roberts (Regional Director Letheby & Christopher) explained … “After our successful operation in 2017 we have decided to scale up and go again with the flexible deployment, on-site support and breakdown package offered by AIT with their Kappture EPoS solution for the 2018 event”.
Gymshark, the UK’s fastest growing company, moved into their brand new headquarters in Solihull. They have built a unique HQ to give their employees the latest in innovation, agility, and creative forums to produce their next generation of sporting products, along with meeting, rest, and recreational spaces to keep everyone at the top of their game. With this in mind, and their desire to build the “world’s greatest office”, what better EPoS solution than Kappture could fit the bill?
Working with Thomas Franks and ALS, we installed two of Kappture’s newly designed self-serve kiosks to give the workforce a simple and effective way to pay for items, hassle free. These kiosks were designed and branded for Gymshark to fit seamlessly with the sleek, modern, and stylish design that mirrored the ‘every detail matters’ approach to creating the workplace of the future. Furthermore, the Kappture powered “#Refuel by Gymshark” loyalty app was put in place to give the staff something back for each spend, branded with their own distinctive look and feel.
February saw the busy installation team moving on from Croke Park in Dublin to another international sporting venue. Working closely with the Elior Hospitality & Scottish Rugby’s IT teams, the first phase of the project was deployed during a freezing few days in Edinburgh. The installation of new EPoS terminals, including integrated credit and debit card payments, was completed ahead of schedule for the first 6 Nations game of 2018 at Murrayfield – the home of Scottish Rugby.
Feedback from the experienced Elior team was very positive after the training and Go Live support for the Scotland / France match, which Scotland won convincingly 32 – 26. We are, however, still unsure as to whether this was wholly down to the Kappture solution! The second game was a full house against England and contactless card transactions were increasingly popular as the trend towards cashless payments continues.
Addvance IT is pleased to announce that Croke Park have selected the cloud-based Kappture solution as their new EPoS software provider from the start of 2018. As part of the project Addvance IT will supply 40 new terminals and a hospitality tablet ordering solution for guest services. The solution will be installed across 400+ terminals within the iconic 82,300 capacity stadium in January including EFT card payments, multi-currency and a payment interface with TicketMaster.
Located in Dublin, Croke Park is third largest stadium in Europe. Named in honour of Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is often called Croker by GAA fans and locals alike. It serves both as the principal stadium and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
Ger Mulryan, Financial Controller, comments: "The Croke Park team are delighted to welcome Addvance IT as a new stadium partner and look forward to introducing new innovative point-of-sale and card processing technologies across our Stadium in 2018".
